Two Somali minor who were recently captured stepping on Kenyan flag at Nyayo Stadium during a match were presented to court.
The two accused minors, aged 14 and 17, face charges of being in the country illegally and damaging the Kenyan flag, as well as causing disturbance.
During the court ruling, Magistrate Rose Gitau ordered that they be taken to the Gigiri Children’s Protection Unit.
She further ordered that a social inquiry report be filed in court before the minors can answer to the charges.
Relatives of the minor requested that they be released, but the court declined since they are not the biological parents.
Their case will be heard next week on Wednesday for further proceedings.
