Renown journalist Zubeidah Kananu Koome has left KTN after 18 years with the station.
In her statement on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Zubeidah announced that she would be moving on to a new chapter in her career.
“After 18 incredible years at Standard Group PLC, a chapter that has shaped my journey as a journalist, news anchor and editor, I am stepping into a new season”, Koome stated.
“These years have been filled with lessons, growth, challenges and friendships I will forever treasure. I am deeply grateful to colleagues, mentors and friends who have worked this path with me,” she added.
She further stated that she will continue serving as the President of the Kenya Editors Guild but did not disclose her next steps.
