Gachagua Hits Back After Ruto’s ‘No Brains’ Remark

DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua has hit back at President Ruto after he suggested that the opposition leaders have no brains.

Speaking on September 17, during the commissioning of the Mombasa Commuter Rail Service, President Ruto urged Kenyans to ignore opposition politicians, accusing them of lacking ideas and brains.

“I want to ask Kenyans to ignore the naysayers and negativity. Some of our brothers keep talking to us with empty noise and gossip; they have no plan, no policy, no agenda, not even any brains,” Ruto noted.

In his response on September 20, in Machakos County, Gachagua noted that the opposition does not possess the kind of brains President Ruto is looking for.

“I heard this guy (Ruto) saying that we don’t have brains. It’s true, the kind of brains he’s looking for, we don’t have. The brains for stealing and looting everything in Kenya, we don’t have. We also don’t have the brains for scheming lies. He is saying we are fools because we can’t go along with this business of killing Gen Z, that we cannot do,” said Gachagua.

The former DP went on to accuse the Head of State of disrespecting the people of Ukambani.

Gachagua pointed out the sacking of former Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) Managing Director John Mativo and Ruto’s swift visit to Machakos County immediately afterward.

He termed the move as disrespectful and indicative of a contemptuous attitude towards the Ukambani community.
