The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered the apprehension of Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo and seven other individuals.
The ODPP on Friday, September 5, 2025 directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to atrest the governor on charges of kidnapping with intent to cause grievous harm and robbery with violence.
“The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) wishes to inform the public of the impending arrest and arraignment of Isiolo Governor Ibrahim Abdi Hassan alias Guyo and seven other individuals in connection with serious criminal offences,” ODPP said in a statement.
According to the ODPP, the Isiolo County boss on June 19, together with the seven accused, raided a hotel in Machakos County where former Isiolo County Chief Officer of Health, Abdirahaman Mohamed, and 15 MCAs who supported the Governor’s impeachment were holding a meeting.
After allegedly storming the venue, they forcibly disarmed and attacked Abdirahaman, and later kidnapped him.
The DCI’s investigation found CCTV footage from the hotel, which placed the Governor and seven others at the scene of the crime.
