The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers have recently arrested three Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) employees in connection with bribery.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 5, EACC disclosed that the suspects demanded money from clients as inducements to provide electricity-related services.
According to EACC, Omwenga, who is an accountant stationed at Electricity House, solicited a bribe of Ksh200,000 to alter a disputed electricity bill of Ksh346,000.

Following a complaint, EACC detectives mounted an operation that led to his arrest while receiving the money.
At Woodley Estate in Nairobi, EACC officers arrested Masiwa and Mutua while taking a Ksh10,000 bribe to illegally reconnect power.
The three suspects were later processed at Integrity Centre Police Station and freed on a Ksh50,000 bond each, as investigations continue.
This comes days after EACC officers arrested a police officer for soliciting a bribe in a defilement case.
Philip Ochieng Adongo, who is an officer stationed at Sarangombe Police Post, allegedly demanded Ksh 4,000 from the complainant as a bribe to arrest a suspect accused of defiling the complainant’s daughter.
