Former nominated senator Gloria Orwoba has been released on a KSh 10,000 police cash bail following her arrest outside the Parliament Building on August 27, 2025.
Orwoba was arrested and taken to the Central Police Station in Nairobi, where she was processed before being released on bail pending charges of causing a disturbance and obstructing justice.
In an online post on Wednesday evening, Orwoba stated that she was being held at Central Police Station.

She had been barred from accessing the Senate in what she described as a dramatic incident, even after presenting reinstatement orders.
The ex-senator claimed that her replacement, Consolata Wakwabubi, was illegally in the Upper House and that any activities conducted in her presence at the Senate were unlawful.
The episode coincided with the Senate’s impeachment session on Kericho Governor Eric Mutai, which Orwoba insisted was irregular.
The expulsion of Gloria Orwoba from the UDA was nullified by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) on August 20.
In its ruling, the tribunal chaired by Desma Nungo highlighted irregular procedures and a failure to uphold fundamental fairness.
