Police have arrested a suspect and managed to recover a stolen firearm and several other items following an operation in Madogo, Tana River County.
In a statement released on Wednesday, August 13, the National Police Service disclosed that the recovery followed a swift operation by officers from Garissa County.
According to NPS, police officers traced the suspect to her home, where the firearm was recovered after receiving actionable intelligence.

Several other stolen items were also recovered from the house.
“Also recovered were the complainant’s wallet, holding his national identity card and his wife’s ID card, a Kenya Police Service Certificate of Appointment, military identification card, smock jacket, police belt, and several swords among other items,” the statement concluded.
The suspect is in police custody, awaiting processing and arraignment in court.
The arrest comes days after police in Trans Nzoia County recovered a G3 rifle and 18 rounds of ammunition from a suspect’s house.
In a statement on July 26, the National Police Service noted that the recovery followed a tip-off from a concerned employer who believed one of their workers was in possession of an illegal firearm.
