The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has dismissed a letter going round the social media alleging that Siaya Governor James Orengo has resigned.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 4, ODM flagged the letter as fake and urged members of the public to ignore it.
The clarification comes amid the growing concern on social media over the whereabouts of Governor Orengo.

The Siaya boss has maintained a low profile in recent weeks, with some social media users speculating about his health.
On social media, Orengo’s accounts have only been posting official updates from the Siaya County government.
Governor Orengo is serving his first term in office as the Siaya county boss, having been elected on an ODM ticket during the August 2022 General election.
He previously served as the Siaya County Senator for two terms between 2013 and 2022.
