Female Officer Attacked by Protesters in Nairobi CBD, Says She Narrowly Escaped Death

The female police officer who was attacked by angry protesters in Nairobi CBD has finally spoken up.

The officer identified as Emily Kinya was attacked by protesters on Muindi Mbingu Street after her team was overpowered, and they began being chased.

While running for her safety, she accidentally slipped and fell when she was attacked by the mob, which made her to almost loose her life.

In footage that was circulated online, Emily was seen lying on the ground as youthful demonstrators threw blunt objects at her.

During the incident, the officer sustained critical injuries to her head and limbs.

Fortunately, the police officer was rushed to the hospital, where she received treatment.

Speaking on Citizen TV, Emily said that one out of her three children is yet to recover from the trauma of seeing her mother being attacked by the protesters.

The police officer said she escaped death by a whisker adding that during the demonstrations, she heard some protesters calling for her to be killed.

Apart from sustaining injuries, Emily said she lost her mobile phone and police equipment.

“We are humans as well, so I think our lives matter too. My foot where I was hit got a soft tissue injury, I suffered a deep cut on the head”, she said.
