“This evening, a fire broke out at the MOWASSCO offices in Mombasa’s Central Business District. Thanks to the swift response of our County Emergency Teams, backed by crucial support from the Kenya Navy and Kenya Ports Authority, the fire has been fully contained. Three county fire engines were on site and effectively supported by our national partners to preserve life and property.’’

The governor moreover noted that despite the fire, services will continue normally since vital data, which he says was backed up on a cloud-based system, is still safe.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage is yet to be established.
