The Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) has announced that 23 stations have violated betting advertisement regulations.
In a statement dated May 5, 2025, the board indicated that the stations continued to air betting content with payment prompts despite the earlier directive that had suspended such advertisements.
“Following the Board’s recent press statement announcing a 30-day suspension of betting advertisements, it has come to our attention that several media outlets continue to run unauthorised betting promotions”, part of the statement read.

The authority, therefore, urged the communications authority to take immediate action against non-compliant media houses as per your mandate.
Among the affected television stations are Kameme TV, Avitation TV, Deliverance TV, Swahili TV, Jawabu TV, Favour Life TV among others.
“The board is actively monitoring TV and radio broadcasts and has identified specific TV stations engaging in unauthorised activities”, the statement added.
