The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) manager for Lari in Kiambu County has been apprehended for allegedly using fake academic documents to secure the job.
Reports indicate that she obtained the fake documents through fraudulent means.
According to investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the manager used a fake Bachelor’s degree from Moi University and a forged Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate from Kahuhia Girls High School.
The government official is therefore accused of fraudulently earning up to sh2.2 million in wages even after getting the job without the necessary qualifications.
The detectives further revealed that the case had already been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) following the completion of investigations.
Upon the DPP receiving the case file, he went ahead to approve the prosecution of the accused for fraudulent acquisition of public property, forgery and uttering false documents.
The suspect is currently under the police custody and is set to soon be arraigned in court to face charges.
