Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford who is on loan from Manchester United is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury.
The severity of the injury, which kept Rashford out of the FA Cup semi-final defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday, is still being evaluated.
While it is possible that the 27-year-old, who is on loan from Manchester United, could return before the end of the Premier League season, it is more likely that he will concentrate on recovering in time for England’s matches in June—specifically, a World Cup qualifier against Andorra and a friendly against Senegal.
If he does manage to return before then, Rashford’s last league appearance of the season would be against Tottenham on May 18, as he is ineligible to play in Villa’s final match of the campaign against United on May 25.
He has already made the decision not to engage with any clubs regarding his future until later in the summer.
Rashford’s contract with United runs until 2028, but he does not anticipate playing for the club again while Ruben Amorim is the manager.
