The suspect behind the arson attack that killed nine family members in Siaya County has been nabbed.
The suspect, identified as Christopher Okello Owino, was arrested in the Kianda area inside his house while having supper with his children.
According to reports, detectives were tipped off about Owino’s presence in the area house after the tragic incident that wiped out an entire family.
The 56-year-old had allegedly gone into hiding after learning that detectives were pursuing him.

The suspect is currently being held at Kibra Police Station.
Earlier on April 23, Owino’s wife had been arrested after oil was recovered that was believed to have been used to set the house on fire.
Owino admitted that he was aware of it and knew his wife was being detained at Ugunja Police Station.
Sources revealed that Owino might have hired a group of associates and travelled with them to the village to commit the crime before returning to Nairobi.
Following the arrest, security teams from Ugunja and Siaya cross-checked and identified the suspect as the match behind the attack.
The suspect is now accused of orchestrating a deadly fire that wiped out an entire family, allegedly because of a land dispute within the village.
Authorities in Siaya are expected to formally charge Owino in court after concluding the investigations.
