The Nation Media Group (NMG) has announced changes in their editorial leadership team.
In a recent internal communication shared by Editor-in-Chief Joe Ageyo, among those who landed new roles include popular Kenyan activist Hanifa.
Hanifa is among the fiercest critics known for the role she played during the Anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests, where she raised Ksh31 billion Kenya shillings to support logistic needs of the protests such as transportation.
Nelson Amenya also landed a job in NMG, where she gained attention nationwide for whistleblowing related to the Adani deal.
According to NMG, the changes only focused on the editorial department, which will aim to accelerate digital innovation and enhance audience engagement across all platforms.
“As the content landscape rapidly evolves, our newsroom will continue to respond appropriately by constantly evaluating our structures and making adjustments”, Ageyo stated.
He also praised the team for embracing the change and called on all staff to offer necessary support to everyone taking up new responsibilities.
“I urge you to join me in congratulating our colleagues who are taking up new roles. Let us accord them utmost cooperation as we accelerate the transformation of our newsroom”, he further stated.
