The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that the price of diesel will decrease in the April fuel review.
In the regulator’s latest fuel preview, the prices of super petrol, diesel and kerosene will be at Ksh174.63, Ksh164.86 and Ksh.148.99, respectively.
EPRA also noted that the new prices will be in force from Tuesday, April 15, 2025, to May 14, 2025.
According to the regulatory, the prices will be inclusive of the 16 per cent value-added tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023 and the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted to inflation.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol and Kerosene decreased by Ksh. 1.95/litre, Ksh. 2.20/litre and Ksh 2.40/litre, respectively,” EPRA noted.
EPRA further noted that the average land cost of super petrol, diesel and kerosene decreased by 4.89%, 6.45% and ^.53% per cubic metre, respectively in March 2025.
The adjustment comes as a result of the lower average landed costs of imported fuel.
