Adel and Mayele Star as Pyramids Seize a Commanding Win over FAR Rabat

Pyramids FC took a significant step towards the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League with an impressive 4-1 victory over FAR Rabat in the first leg of their quarter-final match on Tuesday night at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.

The Egyptian team quickly established a commanding 3-0 lead within the first 40 minutes, thanks to outstanding performances from Congolese striker Fiston Mayele and winger Ibrahim Adel.

Mayele opened the scoring in the 2nd minute by finishing off an assist from Mostafa Fathi. He then doubled the lead in the 12th minute with a close-range shot after a cutback from Adel.

Adel joined the scoring in the 38th minute, calmly slotting the ball home from the left side of the box after being set up by Ramadan Sobhi.

FAR Rabat responded just before halftime when Abdelfattah Hadraf found the net from the center of the box, receiving a pass from Youssef El Fahli.

However, Pyramids FC effectively sealed the game midway through the second half when Adel scored his second goal and the teamโ€™s fourth. He poked the ball past the goalkeeper in the 67th minute after being assisted by Blati Tourรฉ.

Despite mounting pressure and several tactical changes from FAR Rabat, Pyramids FC managed to hold on comfortably for the win, even coming close to scoring again when Fathi hit the crossbar during stoppage time.

This dominant victory gives Pyramids FC a three-goal advantage as they head into the second leg in Morocco, leaving FAR Rabat with a formidable challenge ahead if they hope to overturn the deficit and advance to the semi-finals.
