Google has begun unfolding Gemini 2.5, which the tech giants commend as the ‘most intelligent AI model’.
Gemini, which was introduced in December 2023 as a rival to ChatGPT, has been running on Gemini 2.0, which was introduced in December 2024.
According to google, the new model will show strong reasoning and coding, math and science benchmark capabilities.
Currently, Gemini 2.5 Pro is only available to Gemini Advanced subscribers as part of the Ksh. 3,700 month Google One AI Premium Plan.
So far, google has been integrating its AI advances into its portfolio of products like Search, Android and Workspace.
The Gemini 2.0 flash model has been powering the AI Overviews feature in search.
The new advancement is therefore part of US tech giant’s play to take on players like OpenAI which has a ksh.26,000-a-month ChatGPT subscription for advanced research use.
Other plays in the AI competition google faces includes Elon Musk’s AI whose chatbot Grok in integrated into his X social networking site.
