Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi’s son passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
During the memorial service held on March 28, 2025, Elachi recounted her son Elvis Mrakana’s moments that led to his death.
Elvis died while undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit after being involved in a grisly accident
While narrating the ordeal, Elachi stated that youths nowadays tend to believe they can solve anything on their own, and that is what led to her son’s death.
“I want to talk to parents about our children today. We have a generation that believes they can sort out their problems. They wake up at any hour when one is in challenge and don’t tell you then deal with the problem. They only tell you when they are unable to solve it and there is a crisis. But they will bail each other out, and you will not believe,” Elachi said.
According to Elachi, that is what led to her son’s death, who, during the accident, sustained brain injuries, adding that by then she had already predicted his death.
“So in the same breath, that is what Elvis did. He was in bed at 10 pm, was called to help a friend, rushed, and did it well. But when he was coming back, he had a tyre burst. He rushed to use the emergency breaks but then lost control. In that, he sustained brain injuries, which led to his death”
She, therefore, urged parents to pray for the current generation and ensure their safety.
The Member of Parliament also talked of her son as a lover of music and football who was introverted.
The deceased will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 29, at the family home in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County.
