President Ruto has once again reshuffled his Cabinet, naming Aden Duale as the new Cabinet Secretary for the health sector.
CS Duale has been moved from the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry to head the Ministry of Health, while Deborah Barasa has taken over the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
The head of state has also replaced Public Service CS Justin Muturi with Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku.

Moreover, Hanna Cheptumo has been nominated as the new CS for Gender, Culture and Heritage.
CS Duale previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Defence from October 31, 2022, until his dismissal on July 11, 2024.
He was reinstated on July 19, 2024, as the Cabinet Secretary for Defence shortly before being moved to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
Taking to his social media, the new health CS thanked president Ruto for the reassignment, noting that he was looking forward to serving in the new sector.
“I am deeply grateful to H.E. President William Ruto for his trust and confidence in appointing me to lead the Ministry of Health. It has been an honour serving at the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry, where we advanced key environmental and climate action policies. In my new role, I remain committed to working with relevant stakeholders in driving government policies that strengthen healthcare delivery, ensuring accessible and quality services for all Kenyans. A key priority will be advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) to guarantee equitable healthcare access, especially for vulnerable populations.”
