President Ruto Vows to Turn Eastlands to New York or London

President William Ruto concluded his five-day Nairobi County development tour in Eastlands, covering Makadara, Buruburu, Umoja, Kayole and Embakasi on March 14 2025.

During the development tour, the Head of State left behind a string of newly launched projects and promises, growing list of commitments his administration has made since taking office in 2022.

The President announced a Sh 40 million allocation for 20 new classrooms in Embakasi, giving an assurance that CHPS workers would be paid and schools would receive infrastructure upgrades as well as efforts would continue to promote affordable housing and employment opportunities.

Among other things that the head of State mentioned during his five-day tour was buying a chapati making machine which makes 1 million chapatis for Nairobi school students as per the request of the County boss Johnson Sakaja.

President Ruto, therefore, promised to turn Eastlands into New York through Affordable housing, which raised speculations among Kenyans.

Through Affordable housing, he promised that the project would create job opportunities for more youths, and at least 1500 youths will have secured jobs.

The Affordable Housing will include building 26-floor houses to make the estate appear like London/New York.

His promises have left Kenyans feeling that he has begun an early campaign for the 2027 presidential polls.
