Trump Announces US in Talks with Four Groups Over TikTok Sale

US President Donald Trump has disclosed that his administration is in negotiations with four different groups about the sale of the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok.

According to the Head of State, all options were good.

“We are dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it…all four are good”, Trump said.

TikTok’s fate has been unknown in the United States since a law requiring its owner ByteDance to either sell it or face a ban took effect on January 19 2025.

This was, however, delayed when the president took office on January 20 2025, and signed an executive order to delay the enforcement of the law for 75 days more.

On the other hand, this is not the first time that potential buyers have shown interest towards the popular app; former Los Angeles Dodgers owner, Frank McCourt, has also shown interest.

TikTok is now facing a deadline of April 5 to either strike a deal for its US operation or face a ban under law that was passed by Biden’s administration.

Regarding the deadline, Trump said last week that he might be open to extending it if necessary.
