WhatsApp Group Admin Killed For Allegedly Removing Member

In an unexpected turn of events, a pakistani man was charged for allegedly shooting the administrator of a community WhatsApp group who removed him from the chat.

The deceased, identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, was shot dead on Thursday, 6 March 2025, in the evening in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to reports, Mushtaq kicked Ashfaq out of the WhatsApp group following an argument, as stated by Mushtaq’s brother.

“My slain brother Mushtaq and Ashfaq had developed some differences in a WhatsApp group, forcing my brother to remove the latter. Ashfaq got infuriated and shot my brother dead,” he said.

He said that both parties had arranged to meet and reconcile, but Ashfaq allegedly turned up with a gun and opened fire, killing the deceased.

According to AFP, the availability of firearms, the influence of tribal customs and sometimes weak law enforcement contribute to the frequency of such incidents. ,
