Tharaka Nithi county and the law fraternity are in mourning following the death of Kirimi Muturi, former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Chuka branch chairman and a prominent politician.
Muturi, who was a former Tharaka Nithi senatorial candidate, died after his car was involved in a road accident along the Meru-Nairobi highway on Tuesday March 4.
According to close friends and family, he was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

Moreover, preliminary investigations indicate that Muturi was driving around Chuka when a boda boda rider appeared in his lane, and he swerved to avoid hitting him.
His death comes days after Muturi buried his father last Friday, February 28.
Many have eulogised him, especially his fellow scholars describing him as a dedicated lawyer.
The late Muturi had expressed his interest in politics, including running unsuccessfully for the Tharaka Nithi Senatorial seat in the 2022 polls.
