Paris Saint-Germain dominated Lille in Ligue 1 on Saturday, with Bradley Barcola, Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembele, and Desire Doue each scoring a goal.
PSG continued their impressive pursuit of a fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title with a commanding 4-1 victory over fifth-placed Lille, scoring all four goals in the first half.
The relentless attacks from PSG forced Lille’s goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, to make several impressive saves in an attempt to halt the onslaught early on.
Bradley Barcola opened the scoring for the home side just six minutes into the match, capitalizing on a rebound after Chevalier saved a shot from Ousmane Dembele. Things quickly worsened for Lille from that point forward.
Marquinhos doubled PSG’s lead in the 22nd minute, pushing the ball into the net, and just six minutes later, Dembele added a third goal that effectively secured the win for PSG.
In the 37th minute, Desire Doue finished off the first half’s scoring with a brilliant strike from a tight angle, leaving Lille with little to play for but pride after the halftime break.
Both teams had opportunities in the second half, and ten minutes before the final whistle, Jonathan David scored a consolation goal for Lille. However, they remain on 41 points, two points behind fourth-placed Monaco.
Meanwhile, the capital club stands strong with 62 points from 24 matches, holding a 16-point lead over both Marseille, who are set to host Nantes on Sunday, and third-placed Nice.
