A first-half hat-trick from Omar Marmoush fired Manchester City to a 4-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Marmoush, a big-money signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, opened his City account in sensational style, scoring three times in the space of 14 minutes at the Etihad Stadium.
Marmoush opened the floodgates in the 19th minute when he lobbed Martin Dubravka after pouncing onto Ederson’s superb pass.
Ederson now has the outright most assists of any goalkeeper in Premier League history (six), while he has also become the first shot-stopper to provide three assists in a single campaign.
The Egyptian doubled up when he drilled in via a deflection off Kieran Trippier five minutes later, before rounding out his hat-trick with a composed, first-time finish from Savinho’s cutback.
