Former President Rigathi Gachagua allies have been removed form leadership and membership positions of key senate committees.
The allies were removed from crucial committees where they previously held chairmanships while others shifted from more influential and lucrative positions.
Among those affected included James Murango, Karungo Thang’wa, John Methu, Joe Nyutu and Lenku Seki.
Those removed from the powerful committees were also Ruto’s critics such as Senator Richard Onyonka and Okiyah Omtatah.

Kenya Kwanza is reportedly to have given those positions to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which were previously chaired by the Senate Public Accountants Committee, Senate County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee.
Among Raila’s allies included Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang’ and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi who were elected as the chairpersons of the two committees.
The reshuffle is seen as an effort to strengthen relationship between Ruto and Raila who have for a while been working together.
Among those who commented included Thang’wa who posted on his X account stating that it was clear that it would happen.
” I knew it would happen! I expected it! The purge has been effected. I take it like a man and vow to soldier on unbowed” he wrote.
