Seven people were arrested on Monday, August 11 in connection with a counterfeit US dollar operation in Nairobi.
In a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), National Police Service officers from Central Police Station acted on intelligence to arrest the suspects at Travellers House in Ngara.
The arrested include Manyara Aroon Nicas, a Tanzanian national, and Abbott Antony, a Congolese national.

Five Kenyans, Mongele Wambura, James Ngugi, Justus Alubokho Opulu, and Mary Mumbi, were also arrested.
During the raid, authorities were able to discover several items used in the counterfeit operation.
“Upon searching the premises, the officers uncovered thirty-six bundles of counterfeit US currency, two plastic replicas resembling USD notes, black paper resembling currency, and other items believed to be involved in this illicit activity,” the statement reads.
The 7 suspects are in custody and will appear in court.
Notably, the arrest comes hours after detectives arrested a man who stole from a tourist at Maasai Mara Game Park.
