The incident occurred on the same day another deadly accident was reported in Kisii County, underscoring a day marked by multiple tragedies.

At least two people were killed in a road accident at Keumbu along the Kisii–Keroka Highway on Sunday evening.

Preliminary reports indicate that the bus, which was travelling from Nairobi to Kisii, lost control after allegedly suffering brake failure before crashing into the matatu.
