At least three people have died, while others are nursing injuries following a tragic road accident at the Man Eater area of Tsavo West in Taita Taveta County, along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
The accident occurred on Thursday morning, involving a 14-seater matatu and a truck heading in opposite directions.
Witnesses claimed that the road crash took place after the matatu, which was full of passengers, lost control and rammed into an oncoming truck heading to Mombasa.

Following the accident, a rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene and helped retrieve the victims from the wreckage before rushing them to Voi County Hospital.
The aftermath of the accident left the matatu extensively damaged, with a broken windscreen, mangled seats, broken windows, and deflated tyres.
On the other hand, the lorry was partially damaged on its front side, with the footage showing rescuers retrieving bodies from the damaged matatu.
The incidents come days after the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) urged drivers to be cautious, particularly during this rainy season, due to potential hazards like flooded roads.
