In the first case, lawyer Andrew Chacha Mwita is accused of helping transfer funds from a cryptocurrency account linked to the Islamic State East Africa through his M-Pesa account.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted a personal bond of KSh 5 million, with two contact persons listed.

His miscellaneous application was later closed, and the case is scheduled for mention and disclosure on January 20, 2026.

Mariam Ali Abdalla is also facing two charges for dealing in property controlled by terrorist groups.

It is alleged that on August 22, 2024, she facilitated a funds transfer through her mobile number, knowing the money was linked to the Islamic State (IS) East Africa Cell.

After pleading not guilty, her bond application was opposed by the prosecution.

She is currently remanded at Lang’ata Women’s Prison, with a bond ruling set for December 8, 2025.

Notably, Stephen Kiveve Musembi faces two charges after investigators alleged that on October 14, 2024, he facilitated a money transfer via a mobile number linked to IS East Africa Cell operations.

He pleaded not guilty and is currently held at Kamiti Prison.

The court has scheduled a bail ruling for December 15, 2025, pending the preparation of a pre-bail probation report.
