Police have seized 4,100 litres of illicit alcohol during a targeted operation in the Soweto area of Kasarani Sub-County.
This comes at a time when authorities intensifying efforts to combat illegal brews and narcotics.
In a statement on Saturday, August 1, 2026, the National Police Service (NPS) said officers from Kahawa West Police Station, working jointly with National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs), carried out the operation on Friday, July 31.
According to the NPS, the multi-agency team targeted suspected illegal brewing activities and narcotics within the area, leading to the recovery of large quantities of illicit alcohol.
“During the operation, officers recovered 4,000 litres of Kangara, 100 litres of Changβaa, and multiple brewing apparatuses and distillation equipment,β the statement said.
The seized brewing equipment is expected to aid investigations as authorities continue pursuing those involved in the production and distribution of illegal alcohol.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to dismantle illicit brewing networks and curb the circulation of unregulated alcoholic drinks, which pose significant health and safety risks to the public.
The service has appealed to members of the public to support the campaign by sharing information on suspected criminal activities.
