Passengers to Pay More as Skyward Airlines Revises Ticket Prices

Passengers flying with Skyward Airlines will soon face higher ticket prices following the introduction of a new fuel surcharge.

In a notice issued on Thursday, March 26, the airline confirmed that the pricing adjustment will take effect from April 1, 2026, applying to all flights.

Skyward Airlines cited global aviation trends and persistent supply challenges that have kept fuel prices elevated.

The airline explained that fuel costs remain one of the largest components of operational expenses, making the surcharge necessary under the current market conditions.

The adjustment is expected to impact domestic and international flights, with the carrier urging passengers to plan ahead for the updated fares.

Despite the fare increase, Skyward Airlines assured passengers that it remains committed to fair and transparent pricing while closely monitoring market developments.

The airline emphasized that it will continue to review the situation and provide updates to customers if circumstances change.

The announcement comes just a day after Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi accused some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) of deliberately creating a fuel shortage in the country.

He alleged that certain OMCs were stockpiling fuel products in anticipation of price hikes driven by tensions in the Middle East.

Wandayi emphasized that the government would not authorize any increase in pump prices, assuring that fuel will continue to be sold at the rates set by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) in its March 14 price review.
