Media personality Steve Thompson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, has cautioned his followers to be on high alert after discovering that a conman is impersonating him on social media.
Taking to to his social media accounts on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, to expose the fake account, Obinna shared screenshots of the impersonator’s posts while urging fans not to fall for the scam.
“Guys, this is a CONMAN. TREAD CAREFULLY. I REPEAT, I’M NOT OFFERING ANY LOANS OR GIVING OUT ANY MONEY ANYWHERE,” Obinna wrote.

According to him, the individual behind the fake account has been using his identity to lure social media users with promises of loans and financial assistance, only to con them out of their money.
The comedian shared screenshots of the impersonator’s social media posts, giving his followers a closer look at the fraudulent account and the messages being circulated online.
He stressed that he is not running any loan programs, offering financial aid, or giving out money through any of his social media platforms.
Additionally, Obinna urged members of the public to verify any information shared in his name through his official accounts before engaging with it or sending money.
He further warned that the perpetrators would eventually be held accountable for using his name to deceive innocent people.
