A video going viral on the social media of Nasido Kabale who is a former Nation Media Group reporter has shocked many due to her current lifestyle condition.
The former reporter who was popular with her coverage during the COVID-19 season has left many with questions on how she ended up living in the street.
According to Nasibo, depression triggered her to live the way she is living right now.
“In 2020, I was given a Presidential Award, so when they fired people, I was among the five people who remained at Nation. So that job started disturbing me, seeing people dying during COVID-19. I was diagnosed with depression. There was a time in the office I felt like dying and was taken to Chiromo Hospital, and that’s when they started giving me anti-depressants,” she said.
In addition, resigning from her job was the only way since she by then noticed that her health was deteriorating, and she has not tried to apply for any job again.
The journalist has one daughter who is currently living with her dad admitting that she feels bad not being able to raise her kid.
“Actually, he just saw her on the streets. He was covering stories; he is a famous person. They have bonded, and my baby is in Grade Two. She eats well, she goes to school, but I feel bad that I am not there, she is missing out on a mother’s love. It hurts me the most.’’
Nasibo’s condition makes many review other journalists who have also been spotted asking for help in dealing with mental health disorder.
