Matiang’i Hits Back at Critics Linking Him to Ruto

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has dismissed claims linking him to President William Ruto, asserting that he has no political or personal association with the current administration.

Speaking in Tigania, Tharaka Nithi County, on Saturday, October 11, Matiang’i denounced allegations circulating on social media that he is secretly collaborating with Ruto’s emissaries.

He described the reports as malicious propaganda aimed at tarnishing his reputation and confusing Kenyans about his political stance.

The former minister accused bloggers and a section of the media of deliberately spreading misinformation to portray him as having reconciled with the president.

Matiang’i maintained that he would never want to be part of what he termed as a “regime that has failed the country and betrayed public trust.”

He went on to emphasize that his focus remains on championing reforms to restore integrity in public service and improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans.

Matiang’i reiterated that his long-term goal is to unseat President Ruto and lead a movement that will, in his words, “rescue the nation from economic mismanagement and political deceit.”

He went on to accuse Ruto of bungling the country and banking on cheap public relations to cover for the inefficiencies covered by his regime.

Matiang’i promised to transform the country and reinstate programmes he said were serving the citizenry before they were interfered with by the current regime.
