Justin Muturi Rejects Claims of Secret Talks with Ruto Allies

Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has denied allegations that President Ruto sent emissaries to convince him to get out of the opposition camp.

In a statement, the former CS clarified that he has never met any ally of President Ruto or sent anyone to meet him.

He flagged an article circulating online alleging he had received Ruto’s emissaries, terming it as propaganda aimed at sowing division in the opposition camp.

“Let it be clear, I have never met, sent, nor received any emissaries from President William Ruto or anyone acting on his behalf. This propaganda being circulated is a desperate attempt to push a false narrative and sow division,” Muturi noted.

Muturi moreover affirmed that he will remain true to his principles noting that no circumstance will compel him to abandon the opposition side for convenience.

The former CS fell out with Ruto after openly criticizing the government over a rise in abductions and extrajudicial killings.

President Ruto later dismissed Muturi on March 26, appointing former Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Ruku as his replacement.

Before the dismissal, Ruto had questioned Muturi’s performance, particularly during his earlier stint as Attorney General, describing him as “fairly incompetent.”

Muturi, however, maintained that his removal from the Cabinet was a result of his firm stance against abductions and extrajudicial killings.
