Kenyans will soon be able to access pension and retirement-related services at Huduma Centres across the country, eliminating the need to travel to government offices for most retirement benefit inquiries.
Huduma Kenya announced the development on Monday, June 29, as part of the government’s efforts to decentralise public services and make them more accessible.
The initiative, being implemented in partnership with the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), will see selected Huduma Centres equipped to offer guidance on retirement planning, pension contributions, and access to retirement benefits.

To support the rollout, Huduma Centre staff are undergoing specialised training to enable them to assist members of the public with retirement-related inquiries.
The training is intended to equip frontline officers with the knowledge to provide basic advisory services and guide clients through available retirement benefits processes.
Currently, Huduma Centres only allow Kenyans to check the status of their pension applications. Individuals seeking other pension-related services, including applications for retirement benefits, are still required to visit Retirement Benefits Authority or National Social Security Fund (NSSF) offices.
Once the programme is fully implemented, the government expects it to improve service delivery, reduce the burden on central offices, and make retirement services more convenient for citizens across the country.
The initiative also seeks to encourage greater public awareness and planning for retirement by making pension information readily available at Huduma Centres closer to where people live.
The rollout forms part of the government’s broader plan to expand Huduma Centres to all 290 constituencies, bringing more national and county services closer to citizens while reducing travel costs, waiting times, and congestion at government offices.
