The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has disclosed how a notorious drink-spiker preyed on unsuspecting long-distance travellers.
In a statement issued on September 23, the agency identified the suspect as Abdallah Suleiman, alias Asuu, accusing him of drugging passengers on buses bound for different destinations before stealing their money and valuables.
The DCI further noted that the suspect had long been under investigation, with multiple cases linked to him reported at the Mombasa Central Police Station.

Asuu is believed to be the mastermind behind a spate of incidents in which unsuspecting passengers travelling to destinations such as Mombasa, Kisumu, Tanzania, and beyond were drugged during their journeys and later robbed of their hard-earned money and valuables while unconscious.
DCI revealed that Asuu’s arrest was made during a routine operation at the Mariakani Weighbridge.
He was found in possession of items believed to have been used in his criminal activities.
The suspect is currently in police custody as detectives conclude investigations ahead of his arraignment.
