The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has has apprehended three suspects linked to the attack on All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi.
In a statement on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the authority revealed that the trio were arrested in different areas of Nairobi.
This brings a total number of suspected attackers arrested so far to five, following the arrest of two other suspects linked to the same attack.
“Detectives from DCI Kilimani, working jointly with officers from the DCI Nairobi Regional Office, have arrested three suspects linked to the violent invasion of All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi, where an ongoing meeting was forcefully disrupted,” DCI stated.
According to the authorities, they acted on intelligence leads and forensic analysis that led to the arrest.
During the operation, the detectives recovered a motorcycle, believed to have been used in the attack, which has been stored as evidence, together with mobile phones belonging to the suspects.
According to reports, the attackers stormed the church in two phases on Friday morning to disrupt a planned budget meeting led by civil organisations before the police dispersed them.
Reports indicate that the claimed the suspects stole at least two mobile phones from those at the venue.
Among the ones arrested, one of them revealed that a Nairobi politician had paid them Ksh. 2000 to disrupt the event.
The DCI have so far intensified investigations to arrest more other suspects involved in the attack.
