Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) based in Molo, working alongside police officers from Molo Police Station, raided the homestead of a suspected drug trafficker, seizing cannabis valued at over Sh1 million.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Eric Asande Albert, was arrested from his residence in Munju area, Molo, in a crack-of-dawn operation that caught him completely by surprise.
The joint team of law enforcement officers acting on intelligence reports stormed Albert’s home early in the morning, disrupting his sleep.

Upon entering the house, the officers swiftly rounded him up before conducting an exhaustive search of the premises.
The search bore fruit when officers unearthed a substantial stash of Cannabis Sativa concealed within one of the rooms, packaged and prepared for distribution in the local market.
The recovered haul consisted of one full sack of cannabis, 55 five-kilogram blue carrier bags packed to capacity with the herb, and an additional half-filled sack.
The total weight of the seized narcotics was 35.7 kilograms, with an estimated street value of Sh1,071,000.
The illicit goods were immediately secured and detained as exhibits to be used in the prosecution of the suspect.
Albert is currently in custody at Molo Police Station, where detectives are finalizing his case file for arraignment in court.
He is expected to face charges related to drug trafficking and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.
The successful operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to combat the narcotics trade in the region and dismantle drug networks posing a threat to community safety.
