Award-winning actor Brian Kabugi, popularly known as Realbugi, is mourning the death of his mother, Lucy Njumbi Macharia.
In a statement, Kabugi described his mother as his best friend and a woman who held a special place in his life.
He revealed that his mother had been battling an illness for some time and that the family did everything possible to help her recover.
“I never thought I would have to write a post like this. With a heavy heart, I share that my mother, my best friend, the woman who held me close and whom I held close, is no longer with us,” Kabugi wrote.

The actor said he watched his mother fight through her illness but she passed away on Monday morning.
“She had been unwell for some time, and we truly did everything we could. I watched her fight. I watched her push through. But on Monday morning, she chose to rest,” he added.
Despite the pain of losing her, Kabugi said he finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering.
The award winning actor also revealed that his family is facing an outstanding hospital bill of Ksh 3.8 million.
He therefore made a humble appeal to friends, family, fans and well-wishers to help them settle the bill so they can give his mother a peaceful and dignified send-off.
“As we navigate this loss, we are also faced with the reality of an outstanding hospital bill of Ksh 3.8 million. I am humbly appealing to my community, friends, family, and anyone who is able, to help us clear this amount so that we can give her a peaceful and dignified send-off,” Kabugi appealed.
In addition, Kabugi noted that he may not be able to respond to every message or call during this difficult period but expressed gratitude for the prayers, kind words and support he has received.
