Kenya’s AUC candidate, Raila Odinga, has continued to express confidence in winning the AUC chair.
The former prime minister needs to secure at least 33 votes from the 49 heads of state voting to win the seat.
Raila has been travelling across the continent to rally support from as many heads of state as possible.

According to former Kenya’s ambassador to the U.S., Elkanah Odembo, who also serves as co-chair of the secretariat alongside Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing’oei Raila has been able to get support from at least 28 heads of state.
Raila’s campaign team had previously met with ambassadors from 28 African countries to garner support for his AUC candidacy.
“Maalim and I will be paying courtesy calls to them. These visits are intended to make to make the case for Kenya’s candidate,” Odembo told the Nation.
