Benson Malova Ashiko also known as Ash Papi has been charged for publishing false information.
The accused was arraigned at Milimani Law Courts where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Ash Papi allegedly published false information in direct with violation of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act No.5 of 2018 according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Ash Papi is accused of knowingly and unlawfully publishing false information on his X account, under the username Ash Papi @Mr-Papi5 on January 18, 2025.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations stated.
Despite the pleading not guilty to the allegations, Ash Papi was granted a cash bail of Ksh.20,000.
His case is scheduled for mention on February 19th 2025.
Prison officer at Bungoma Main prison Jackson Kuria was also arrested on January 15th, 2025, for publishing false information on his X account under Username Shakur the Cop.
He was arraigned at Milimani law courts and pleaded not guilty to the charges who was granted a bond of 100,000 with alternative of Ksh. 50,000 cash bail.
His case will be heard on 17th February 2025.
