The National Communications Authority (NCA) has lifted the temporary ban on Facebook and TikTok which was imposed last week.
This was due to circulation of videos depicting the alleged killings of South Sudanese nationals in Sudan.
The graphic and inflammatory content which sparked violent protests and retaliatory killings across the country have been removed from social media Platform as confirmed by NCA.

The rise of violence linked to social media content in South Sudan underscores the need for a balanced approach that addresses the root causes of online incitement while protecting the rights of the population.
The National Communications Authority stated.
The lifting of the project is part of our efforts to foster a safer digital environment and promote peace and stability in the country.
Upon lifting the ban, the NCA urged platform operators Meta and TikTok to strengthen monitoring and report harmful content to prevent future incidents.
The National Communications Authority assured commitment to avoid similar shutdowns in the future by working towards a unified strategy with development partners, operators and regulators.
