FKF Clears the Air Over Field Branding Uproar

Three FKF Premier League live broadcast matches have seen no field branding in the recent matches.

Bandari FC hosting Shabana FC in Mombasa witnessed no field branding. The double header featuring Kenya Police FC against Bandari FC and Gor Mahia against Sofapaka FC also saw no field branding and this raised the concerns on social media.

The standoff, which has caused FKF to withhold stadium branding is reportedly the result of a dispute between the federation and the Pay TV league broadcaster, Azam. Azam TV is alleged to have failed to remit the expected payments to the federation, leading to the decision to withhold stadium branding.

The FKF Communications Department has taken to Social Media to clear up on the matter via a letter shared.

“The situation is primarily a result of ongoing restructuring efforts within the federation, which are critical to ensuring the long-term sustainability and financial health of our operations. Upon review, it has become evident that the previous approach to branding was financially unsustainable.” communicated the first part of the letter.

“Our focus remains on creating a well-structured, efficient, and forward-thinking framework for the FKF Premier League, one that prioritises transparency, accountability, and tangible results for all stakeholders,” read the last statement on the letter.
