Sarah Mtalii Discloses she emotionally Left her marriage in 2022

Businesswoman Sarah Mtalii has recently opened up about her emotional journey leading to the end of her marriage to Simon Kabu. 

In an interview with Dr Ofweneke, Sarah confessed that she emotionally left their marriage two years before they separated publicly. 

“I have come to learn that we exit like two or three months before we physically leave. So we start leaving mentally, emotionally, and then finally, physically. Nililefteft Kitambo, but I was still there. I was just hanging in there.”

According to Sarah, the main reason for staying in the marriage was her children.

“I’ve been raised up in a close-knit family, and my desire was to see my children raised up in a close-knit family where there’s a mother, there’s a father. You know, because I believe each parent has their part to play in raising children. So there are some parts of a daddy that I knew when I go out there, I would not be able to play that role. But I have come to realise it’s still doable anyway.” 

Moreover, the business obligations also played a significant role in her decision to stay.

 “Secondly, why I stayed there was for the business because the business was thriving,” she explained. 

Sarah further revealed that despite outward appearances, their marriage was falling apart behind the scenes. 

“When we went for the cruise you find that we did not get seperate rooms and so it became hard. I would sleep shortly and then wake up again. During the day, everyone wass creating content for the business by themselves,\” she noted. 

Talking of the attempt to try and fix the marriage, she disclosed that after years of attempting reconciliation, they eventually gave up on counselling. 

“We tried to fix things. We have seen the leading family counsellors, marriage counsellors and therapists. We have seen like three, and all of them at some point, they got tired. The counsellors gave us their blessings. They said they had done their best and we could then try other avenues.\” 

Sarah then approached a close friend, who advised them to engage in mediation.

“We did a whole year of mediation. The whole of 2023, we were on mediation at Windsor,” she revealed. 

She also went  on to highlight how she failed in her marriage.

“In my marriage, I failed by loving and trusting too much. I gave an example of not following up on transactions like land and vehicles. Right now I am realising that most of those properties were registered under his name because I did not follow up. Some have already been transferred to his daughter\’s name,\” she revealed. 

The businesswoman did not forget to explain on the the viral CCTV footage that circulated online alleging that she was assaulting an unidentified lady in her house saying: 

\”This girl that I was fighting on that night, we had slept under the same roof. Simon has four baby mamas and one of them owns a spa. She was now bringing her friends to my house. This house is the same house my children also go to because we are sharing custody. I was trying to tell them they can do their things elsewhere but not in my house. Throughout the marriage I went through so many things such that I normalised cheating.\” 

Sarah Mtalii and Simon Kabu, had been the face of Bonfire Adventures, and the couple was often seen attending high-profile events, including international trips.
