Two suspects have been apprehended in connection with an armed robbery in which a woman lost KSh1 million in Chemobo Village, Aldai Constituency, Nandi County.

The suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation in Mudete, Sabatia Sub-County, following investigations into the October 19, 2026 incident

According to the police, the victim had withdrawn the money from Co-operative Bank’s Mbale Branch at around 2:50 pm.

She was accompanied by a friend and intended to use the cash to purchase building materials.

After leaving the bank, the two boarded a matatu before hiring a motorcycle at Shamakhokho PSV stage to take them to Chemobo.

Unfortunately their journey was interrupted near Erusui Girls Secondary School when a white Toyota Probox blocked their way.

Four men reportedly emerged from the vehicle, two armed with pistols, and robbed them at gunpoint.

The attackers escaped with KSh1 million packed in a shopping bag.

Following the robbery, the police conducted a late-night operation that resulted in the arrest of the two suspects.

A search at suspect’s residence led to the recovery of several items suspected to be linked to criminal activities.

Among the items recovered included two pocket phones, ten assorted mobile phones, a handcuff, Safaricom and Airtel SIM cards, a penknife, a screwdriver and several cut-out motor vehicle number plates.
