Linda Mwananchi Movement leader Edwin Sifuna has unveiled the movement’s proposed provisional leadership team, naming several political figures to key positions within the outfit.
Speaking on Friday, October 30, at the movement’s headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi, the Nairobi Senator announced that former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Mavoko MP Patrick Makau had agreed to join the outfit.
The two were proposed alongside former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo for the positions of Deputy Party Leaders.

Sifuna also disclosed that one of the deputy leadership positions had been reserved for a representative from the Coast region, with the nominee expected to be announced after further consultations.
Under the proposed leadership structure, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi will serve as the party’s chairperson, with former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo nominated as his deputy.
Suba South MP Caroli Omondi has been proposed for the position of Secretary General, while Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka will take up the Treasurer’s position.
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has also been nominated to lead Sifuna’s presidential campaign, with Faith Odhiambo expected to serve as his deputy.
During the event, Sifuna renewed his criticism of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), arguing that the party had lost its former influence following the departure of several members.
He maintained that his exit had triggered further defections, particularly among members who shared the political vision of the late Raila Odinga.
The Nairobi Senator also criticised President William Ruto over his announcement concerning the proposed Bayern Munich and Ajax FC football match at Talanta Stadium.
Sifuna argued that the President should instead have prioritised efforts to secure the return of Kenyans allegedly recruited to fight in the Russia-Ukraine war.
