President William Ruto has travelled to Moscow, Russia, to attend the Third Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, where he is expected to pursue trade and investment opportunities for Kenya.
State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed announced the trip on Tuesday, October 27, noting that the President would focus on expanding export markets, attracting foreign investment and strengthening Kenya’s economic and strategic interests.
During the forum, Ruto is expected to advocate for improved access to African markets for Kenyan agricultural products, including tea, coffee, cut flowers and fresh produce.

He will also seek partnerships to support the export of value-added products and attract investments in agro-processing, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure.
As the African Union champion on the African Continental Free Trade Area, the President is expected to promote initiatives aimed at boosting intra-African trade and strengthening Kenya’s position in regional and international markets.
The discussions will also explore opportunities in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, digital innovation and technology transfer.
These partnerships are expected to support skills development among young people, improve business competitiveness and accelerate the growth of Kenya’s digital economy.
Food security will also feature in the engagements, with Kenya seeking access to affordable agricultural inputs to support farmers and strengthen agricultural production.
At the Africa-Russia Business Roundtable, Ruto is expected to market Kenya as an attractive investment destination and a gateway to African markets.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to explore joint ventures, commercial partnerships and other investment opportunities.
The engagements are also expected to focus on strengthening local industries, creating employment opportunities and increasing the value of Kenyan exports.
Beyond trade and investment, African leaders are expected to discuss international relations and security matters with their Russian counterparts.
The talks will cover global peace, regional security challenges, conflict resolution and efforts to promote stability.
African countries are also expected to advance their priorities on global governance, international representation and economic cooperation, while advocating for partnerships founded on mutual respect and sovereign equality.
On the sidelines of the forum, Ruto is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Heads of State and Government, representatives of international organisations, financial institutions and major corporations.
The meetings are expected to help Kenya mobilise investment, access new markets and establish partnerships to support industrialisation, economic transformation and long-term growth.
